| dc.description.abstract | The study aimed at establishing the role of key stakeholders in developing an all-round curriculum in secondary schools in Ggomba district. The study was guided by two objectives that is; to establish the role of teachers in curriculum designing, implementation and the role of other stakeholders for example parents, community leaders among others in assessment of the development of an all-round curriculum in secondary schools in Ggomba district. The study employed a cross-sectional design involving both qualitative and quantitative approaches. It involved 217 teachers, 19 head teachers, 1 District Education Officer, 8 parents and 3 religious leaders who were selected using convenience and purposive sampling techniques. The study findings revealed that teachers are involved in the designing and implementation of an all-round curriculum in secondary schools in Ggomba district .It was also revealed that other stakeholders such as head teachers, D.E.O.s, religious leaders and the parents contribute towards the development of an all-round curriculum in secondary schools in Ggomba district. It was concluded that teachers play a positive role in designing and implementing an all - round curriculum in secondary schools in Ggomba District. It was further concluded that even other stakeholders like head teachers, district education officers, parents and religious leaders give ideas to the development of an all-round curriculum in secondary schools in Ggomba district. It was recommended that if designing of an all round curriculum is to be effective in secondary schools, Ministry of Education and Sports through the National Curriculum Development Centre should involve teachers in the designing of the curriculum, selection of the teaching materials, content and co-curricular activities. District education officials and head teachers should also provide teachers with teaching requirements, textbooks, among other requirements to implement the curriculum. Finally, it was recommended that parents, district officials, teachers, head teachers and district education officers should always contribute to the development of an all-round curriculum. | en_US |
