dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between financial resource management practices and commitment of academic staff in Uganda Martyrs University. The study was guided by three objectives, namely; to find out the relationship between financial resource mobilization, utilization and control practices on academic staff commitment in Uganda Martyrs University. The study was both quantitative and qualitative. It was cross- sectional survey design involving 113 academic staff who were randomly and purposively selected. The study objectives were tested using Pearson Correlation Coefficient Index. The findings of the study revealed a positive significant relationship between financial mobilization, utilization and control practices on the commitment of staff in Uganda Martyrs University. It was concluded that financial resource mobilization, utilization and control practices significantly relate with commitment of academic staff at Uganda Martyrs University. It was therefore recommended that if academic staff commitment is to be improved at Uganda Martyrs University, the University Council, relevant Deans, Heads of Departments, and other University stakeholders should put up several money generating projects, should ensure that funds are appropriately allocated to key units like teaching, research among others. And finally University financial administrators should monitor and supervise budget implementation effectively for better utilization of funds.en_US
