dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to find out the challenges of adult learners in Kampala district secondary schools. The study used a cross sectional survey design in which a sample population was obtained which gave information at a time and it was based on the following three objectives: To find out the social challenges of adult learners in Kampala secondary schools; To find out the academic challenges of adult learners in Kampala secondary schools; To examine the financial challenges of adult learners in Kampala secondary schools. Data was collected from school Heads or Principals, Teachers and the students using questionnaires, interview guides and observation guides. Collected data was analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative techniques. The findings revealed that adult learners faced social, academic and financial challenges. The study concluded that majority of the adult learners faced financial challenges. Therefore the researcher recommended that spouses and employers should support adult learners financially and the teachers should improve on their teaching methods (andragogy).  en_US
