This research investigated the effects of information and communication technologies in administration of selected secondary schools in Kampala District. Three objections were used to guide the study and these were to: Establish the effects of Personal Computers on administration of the secondary schools in the district, find out the effects of local area networks on administration of the secondary schools in the district and also to establish the effects of wide area network (Internet) on administration of the secondary schools in the district. A descriptive analytical research design was used in the study with a sample of 121 respondents selected by simple random sampling from 10 secondary schools purposively selected in the district. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data and key informants were also used in the study. The data collected was qualitative and both frequency tables and Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) were used to analyse the relationships between the variables. The findings revealed that personal computers, local area networks and wide area network/Internet that were considered in the respective objectives in this research were increasingly being used in the selected secondary schools and were found to be improving the different administrative functions in these schools. From the findings it was recommended that stakeholders at different levels in secondary schools in the district should endeavor to install personal computers, local area networks and the Internet and increasingly search for relevant knowledge and skills to put them to effective use for improvement of administrative functions for better school development.en_US
