    School management and teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools in Busia District

    Abstract
    This study examined the relationship between school management and teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools, Busia District. The study aimed at achieving three objectives namely: to find out the effect of planning and teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary schools in Busia District; to determine the effect of organisation on teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools in Busia District and finally, to establish the effect of control on teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools, Busia District. The research used a cross sectional descriptive study design, which was for explaining fully the richness and complexity of the study. The study came up with the following findings: - planning has a major role to play towards the performance of teachers in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools in Busia District. It was realized that there is a positive relationship between planning and teacher performance where correlation results reflected a Pearson Linear Correlation Coefficient (PLCC) of 0.173. The study also found out that organization acts as engine oil towards the performance of teachers in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools in Busia District. The study revealed that there is a positive relationship between organization and teacher performance where it was shown that there is a Pearson Linear Correlation Coefficient of 0.192. The study also confirmed that control acts as a cornerstone in relation to teacher performance. Thus there is a positive relationship between control and teacher performance following the correlation results which indicated a PLCC of 0.254. The study concluded that planning has a positive effect on teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools in Busia District. According to the study organization positively influences teacher performance in Masaba Sub County Primary Schools in Busia District. The study on the other hand concluded that there is a great link between control and teacher performance within the sub County. Finally the study recommends that planning should be fostered in educational institutions because it is a core of all the activities to be done and organization acts as a cornerstone which should be ensured amongst employees. Also control should be enhanced to lay a firm foundation of all the activities carried out in educational institutions.
