Introduction: Patient satisfaction is an important measure of quality of care and can be used to assess whether services are of an acceptable standard. It enables health care providers to identify gaps and encourages efforts to improve quality of care. It supports greater consumer participation in health care through better planning for services and utilization of skilled attendance at birth. Measuring patient satisfaction has been largely ignored in developing countries. This study examined client satisfaction with intrapartum care in Mulago national referral teaching hospital. Objectives: 1. To determine prevalence of satisfaction among mothers delivering in Mulago. 2. To determine factors associated with satisfaction with intrapartum care among mothers delivering in Mulago. Methods: This was across sectional exit survey involving 362 participants who had delivered either vaginaly or by caesarean section from ward5C. An interviewer administered questionnaire was be used to collect the data. Data Analysis: Descriptive analysis of the study participants was carried out, Bivariable and Multivariable logistic regression was carried out to determine the factors associated with patient satisfaction using STATA version 13. Results: Sixty three percent of the mothers were satisfied with the intrapartum care. Shorter distance traveled to get to Mulago Hospital, shorter waiting time, politeness, privacy, availability of drugs on the labour ward and provision of advice on post natal care were associated with increased satisfaction with intrapartum care. Conclusion and recommendations: This study indicates that satisfaction with intrapartum care in Mulago is generally low compared to international data. Designing platforms for women that have delivered to voice and discuss their concerns with their healthcare providers will give an insight into the possible ways of addressing challenges in the provision of intrapartum care.en_US
