The AIDS pandemic has posed a major health challenge to the world's population. Uganda, one of the most affected countries in the world, has been very open about this disastrous malady. Where as the country has put in place educational programmes to try to prevent vertical transmission, alot still remains to be done. Knowledge levels about VCT have been found not to correlate with the uptake. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. It was conducted in an antenatal clinic in Jinja Hospital- Jinja District, eastern part of Uganda, which is 80km from Kampala in March 2004. The purpose was to establish factors influencing the utilization of VCT Services by antenatal mothers.en_US
