    Abstract
    Despite a gorvenment policy to the effect that all children in day schools shall be provided with lunch, only 35% of day primary schools had a feeding program in Jinja district. No information was available on effects on effects of school feeding programmes on nutrition status. the general objective of the study was to compare the nutritional status of pupils in primary day schools with and without a school feeding programme.
