dc.description.abstractSuxamethonium, a depolarising muscle relaxant used to facilitate tracheal intubation during general anaesthesia is so highly associated with post operative myalgia that,although there are other causes of POM,the terms POM and suxamethonium associatedvmyalgia are often used interchangeably. In Mulago hospital, suxamethonium is being almost routinely used during the induction of general anaesthesia for caearean section while the magnitude of the related postoperative myalgia is not known.en_US
