The title of the art piece draws from the term serendipity which refers to unplanned fortunate discovery. In this case, it is discovery which occurs by accident through the process of working and presented as an innovation in visual arts. Thus, the painting, depicts an imagined landscape based on a systematic visual experimentation of ideas. The dominant features of this painting are continuous lines that bring the viewer in and out of the painting. The lines are precise and clear and create a visual sense of coherent and sustainable flow of forms based on systematic study of color theory. The color selection and usage demonstrate the artist’s mastery sense of perspective. Through a systematic application of strong tertiary color in the foreground and fading harmonious colors in the background, the painting has attained a planned quality of visual perspective which allows the viewers eyes to penetrate the painting from the foreground through the middle and finally to the background. Through consistent application of lines in different directions, the artist intends for the viewer to get a feeling of a landscape with different imagined species of vegetation which have been created innovatively and by accident. It is this occurrence and development the visual features by chance that has resulted into the naming of this art work: ‘serendpic landscape.’en_US
