The main variable in the study was research productivity of lecturers in the Islamic University in Uganda. Individual factors and organizational support were considered as the independent variables, basing on Bland et al. (2002) model of research productivity. The study majorly took a quantitative approach hence; a survey method of data collection was used with the help of a self-administered questionnaire to collect data from 134 respondents. Data were analyzed with both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptively mean values, frequencies and percent were determined. Hypotheses were tested at the inferential level by using Karl Pearson’s Linear Correlation Coefficient test. The findings revealed that, individual factors and organizational support have a positive significant relationship with research productivity. It was concluded that both individual factors and organizational support are important factors in enhancing research productivity of lecturers in Islamic University in Uganda. Therefore, the study recommended that IUIU should put more emphasis on fostering individual factors to enhance research productivity. IUIU should stimulate lecturers’ intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation but as well build their self-efficacy in order to enhance research productivity. IUIU should also emphasize the fostering of organizational support such as reducing the lecturers’ teaching workload, stimulate local and international research collaborations, increase research funding and give rewards and recognition to the lecturers who complete their research studies in order to enhance research productivity.en_US
