    Transformational leadership and job satisfaction among employees of Baylor College of Medicine

    Abstract
    The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there was a relationship between transformational leadership style and employee job satisfaction. The study was guided by the following objectives; to assess the different forms of transformational leadership that exists among employees, to assess the approaches towards job satisfaction that exist among employees of Baylor College of Medicine, and to establish the relationship between the transformational leadership and job satisfaction among employees of Baylor College of Medicine. A correlation research design was used in the study so as to establish the relationship that existed between transformational leadership and job satisfaction among employees of Baylor college of medicine and the design that related the variables in the study. The population included 144 employees working in Baylor college of medicine comprising of both male and female employees. The researcher used a sample of 60 employees working in Baylor college of medicine whereby male employees comprised 60% (36 male employees) and female employees comprised 40% (24 female employees). The researcher used the purposive sampling technique to select respondents according to their age, sex and religion in order to balance the data collection. The findings of table 1 showed that One-Sample T-Test is significant, and scale of transformation leadership variable is (t=53.06, p<.001, df=367). The findings showed that there is a significant positive relationship between transformational leadership with job satisfaction in Baylor college of medicine (r =0.271, p<.01, N=100). In addition, correlation between dimensions of idealized influence (r =0.234, p<.01, N=100), inspirational motivation (r =0.210, p<.01, N=100), intellectual stimulation (r =0.242, p<.01, N=100), and individual consideration (r =0.271, p<.01, N=100) with job satisfaction were significant at.01 level. Regarding transformation leadership and job satisfaction, the management needs to provide a suitable working condition for all the employees since this may boost their morale and make them perform better.
