Abstract

There is a lot of medical data that is very important yet it is not stored so well. There is a high possibility of misplacing it or losing it completely, thus the need for a sufficient repository designed and developed to store the data for current and future use. Medical data involves a lot, generally about what takes place in hospitals but only specific information of interest is covered to make the repository small, efficient, less costly and to avoid redundancy. The medical data and image repository is designed and implemented to avail the necessary patient information and images to health care administrators (like doctors and physicians) for medical diagnosis. Patients interested in knowing their information online can do so if authorized. The repository was developed to efficiently provide health care data, images and services to patients, medical personnel and authorized researchers. The repository stores data like patient details, medical personnel details and researchers’ details, and it can be accessed by authorized people.
