    Abstract
Most hospitals in Uganda today are still using a manual system of data access and storage. However the weaknesses of this System include data redundancy, inconsistencies as well as poor file management. In this study, after critically reviewing related literature and analyzing the existing systems, a web based hospital service system was developed. The development of a web based hospital service system from the current manual system in use, was to mainly improve patient convenience by enabling access to various hospital services online. The system was to allow consultation and bookings to be done online. The System requirements were determined through interviews, literature and observation of the existing system. This report details the development of a Web Based Hospital Service System. A specification of the requirements employing a context diagram, Data flow diagram, Entity Relationship diagram and a data dictionary was done. The web online system construction was done using JAVA, HTML, and MySQL. Finally, the report gives discussions, conclusions and recommendations.
