In today’s contemporary world, education has turned out to be one of the basic necessities in the life of individuals. Given its importance, society should give it due attention. Hence, the study was intended to find out the way managerial conflict between the Church and state challenges the quality of education in Kigulu North Constituency. It is worthy of observation that in this project, the researcher focused on the necessity of making better the quality of education in schools but more so Catholic founded but government aided primary schools. Both the Church and state have not been so faithful in fulfilling their obligations in schools as it is required by the Education Act of 2008. In this research project, the challenge of managerial conflict on the quality of education and the steps taken to improve on the situation have been clearly laid out and expounded. Consequently, the study proposes proper management of schools by the relevant authorities as a realistic strategy to address the unpleasant reality. This research paper is composed of five chapters presented in chronological order. In the first chapter, the researcher dwelt more on highlighting what really prompted him to undertake the study on such a topic. Hence, the problem was exposed and handled appropriately. The objectives of the study were presented and other pertinent issues that laid the foundation for our topic. Guided by the objectives of the study, the researcher was able to consult other sources where different scholars had earlier on expressed their views. He then sorted out only those which were relevant to his topic. Thereafter, the research gap was brought to light which needed to be filled. Chapter two of this research attests to this fact. Chapter three portrays the research methodology used to carry out the study. Both qualitative and quantitative methods of research were used therein. These aided in collecting the relevant data, classifying it, analyzing it and presenting it. After completing library research and field work, it was observed that quality education is yet to be realized in most Church founded schools that were taken over by the government. This was mainly due to the prevalent managerial conflicts between the Church and state. However, since education is one of the major sectors of our country Uganda, it was recommended that proper management of schools by both the Church and state would redeem the unfortunate situation and reduce on the high level of illiteracy that our country is experiencing.en_US
