A project report submitted to the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology for the study leading to a Project in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Information Technology of Makerere Universityen_US
This report covers an effort to create a Kindergarten Teaching Aid System for Nursery level of Education this will act as a teaching system which will help to simplify teachers work and save time when teaching consistently through a web based system. This provides a fast and efficient teaching aid by the teachers to the children as they progress to the primary level of education. In the ever changing world of electronic businesses, web based applications continue to replace paper processes. Reduced costs, improved efficiency and opportunities for in-depth analysis are some of the benefits that online Systems offer. In the process of research, interviews, observation and questionnaires were used in data collection. The design of the System model was accomplished by putting in place Data Flow Diagrams which showed the flow of data within the system, Entity Relationship Diagrams were used to show the relationship s between entities and there attributes. HTML was used to develop the interfaces, PHP was used to process the interfaces and connect to them to the database, MYSQL for the design and manipulation of the database. This study identified the major problems faced by the existing manual methods used by the teachers of BBC Kindergarten School during the teaching process and attempted to solve them by developing a Kindergarten Teaching Aid System. When the employees of BBC were asked about the new system, TASK, 60% of the interviewee accepted the system, 30% of the interviews opposed the system and 10% of the respondents didn‟t know of the need of the system.en_US
