    Abstract
This report summarises the results of a study on discordance being a cause of marriage separation as opposed to the Catholic teaching of indissolubility of marriage in Lukaya Parish. The researcher was guided by the general objective: To establish the thesis that frequent evaluation of the marriage progress and consultation of pastors on issues of family life is indispensable for achieving indissolubility in marriage. The research designs employed for the research study were qualitative and quantitative approaches. Seventy two (72) respondents was the sample size for the study. Four research tools were used: Questionnaires, Observation, Interviews and Document review. The findings point to a number of factors that cause AIDS especially in marriage life. Specifically, the researcher has presented the views of the respondents as regards their understanding of the concept of discordance in relation to the Catholic teaching on marriage. They have given the causes for HIV/AIDS, the consequences of discordance, the views of the Church about marriage, solutions to HIV/AIDS in marriage and finally relationship between the consultation of pastors on issues of family life and marriage permanence. Considering the findings from the field and the explanations attached to them, the researcher drew conclusions and made recommendations which basically focused on: frequent evaluation of the marriage progress and consultation of pastors on issues of family life which is indispensable for achieving stability in marriage. All these are intended to foster the Catholic teaching of indissolubility of marriage in Lukaya Parish.
