dc.description.abstractOrganizational commitment, Internal Control system and accountability are important organizational phenomena that have been recognized by academicians, practitioners and modern times as fundamental elements in the successful operation of the organization and in a competitive market. The purpose of the study was to study if NHCC projects return on investment was affected by the level of organizational commitment of the project team, internal control systems and accountability for project funds. A cross-sectional survey was employed as the primary method to collect data. The field work consisted of a self administered questionnaire to 168 respondents but received 112 questionnaires. Data was analyzed using SPSS and correlations and regressions were run. The findings revealed that organizational commitment has a positive relationship with Return on Investment on the company projects. Accountability coupled with good internal control policies and procedures in place have a significant relationship with Return on investment on company projects. There is a positive relationship between organizational commitment, accountability, internal control system and consequent Return on Investment. Therefore if project teams/employees were committed and improve on accountability of project funds the Return on investment of company projects will improve or even surpass the budgeted ROI for the projects. Its recommended that internal control systems in regards to meeting project funds accountability requirements could be put in place, strongly enforced, Team sizes affected the level of organizational commitment on the company projects which could be improved through having more project staffs like foreman, supervisors, clerk of works on permanent employment basis.en_US
