dc.description.abstract | This project report entails the construction methodology used and aspects of construction project management practice exercised by the author and part of the construction supervising team of Padibe Town Council pipe water supply system and sanitation facilities. It details contract administration during the execution stage and the application of project management knowledge areas during project implementation. The study reported in this paper aimed at assessing the use of processes related to Project Time Management and its relation with project schedule performance and quality of work. The construction methodology adopted by the contractor at every stage of the works has also been discussed in this report.
The project was construction of Padibe Town Council pipe water supply systems and sanitation facilities; the components are: Development of 2 No. production wells, Construction of 2 No. pump houses, Construction of 2No. guard houses, Supply and installation of pumping mains, Supply and installation of distribution network, Supply and installation of intensification network, Supply and installation of pumps, Supply and installation of solar and 3- phase power extension, Construction of water office, Construction of 2No. 5 stance VIP boy’s latrines, Construction of 2No. 5 stance VIP girl’s latrines and Construction of 2No. 4 stance VIP staff’s latrines.
Construction projects involve a diversity of skills that come from the diversity of professions, specialists, and suppliers that are involved in the process from inception to end. Successful project implementation can only be achieved with good project management practices in place. Failure to have proper project management monitoring and control systems can easily result in poor relationships, disputes, and cost overruns on a project. | en_US |
