Solid waste management and low-cost sealing of Kibiriti road in Butogota town council
Abstract
This report comprises of the activities I participated in, carried out and observed while I was on my industrial training from May to August 2020. The events and procedures of the work done and observed were recorded in the daily book and used to compile this report. The works were of, road sealing (upgrading to bituminous standard), construction projects, solid waste management and related to learnt knowledge or throughout the study course and some new innovations. The experiences were gained in important two areas which were explained in chapter two as case studies of waste management and road sealing and the focus was based on the course outline for report in the course content in relation to experience gained in the field of study. Construction
procedures and project management, experience was gained for management and procedures of construction. Case studies, reviewed the waste management practices to safe guard the environment in Butogota that included Solid waste disposal and best practices, Solid waste generation and minimization techniques Proposal formulation for waste management to various
sources. Sealing of Kibiriti road and maintenance of other town council roads have helped to attracted traders from other parts of the district to work in Butogota. I also took part in estimating and cost control, Specifications and preparation of bill of quantities with me practicing and taking part to cost and make valuable project cost controls and management A number of challenges were faced and solutions proposed for on ward future handling and actions. From the above activities the expertise and practical skills were attained and gained, the chapter below gives the details of activities involved.
