This study focuses on the level of institutional capacity and protection of refugees in Uganda. It analyses the level of refugee protection, the different types of social services rendered to refugees, the challenges encountered in the provision of such services and protection of refugees. Methods of data collection involved reviewing existing documentaries and reports. The main literatures reviewed include; The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, 2019; Uganda Humanitarian Situation Report, October, 2017; World Bank report 2019; Watera, W., Seremba, C., Otim, I., Ojok, D., Mukhone, B., and Hoffmann, A. 2017; and Muchunguzi Duniya, 2019; and Ahabwe, C. 2018, and Gumisiriza 2019.The information gathered was used to publish this research report focusing on the capacity of institutions to protection refugees in Uganda.Findings indicated that despite Uganda’s refugee progressive model that has been acknowledged internationally, there seems to be narrowed technical, technological and human capacities to adequately implement the ideal strategies of the model including malpractices like corruption that led to the cutoff of grants meant for support and provision of social services to refugees. Recommendations have also been given thereof.en_US
