    Abstract
This work aims to bring to light the failures resulting from lack of or non-compliance to construction and infrastructure planning in Kampala, Uganda. To achieve this, a literature review was performed on the main techniques of construction planning and approach to Infrastructure panning. Then, a comparative multiple case study was developed in four critical projects interacting with the Kampala Northern bypass to verify the challenges resulting from lack of or non-compliance to planning. The results show that these lapses have contributed to some key failures of the Kampala Northern Bypass like Flooding, traffic congestion etc.
