This technical Project report has been prepared in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the master of science in construction management of the college of engineering design, art & technology of Makerere university. It discusses technical methodologies used by the author in the construction of Kabaale Bridge located at the boundary of Nakaseke and Kyankwanzi Districts. It also highlights project management techniques that were employed to control resources, time, cost and quality in the execution of the project. It details contract administration during the implementation stage and application of project management skills employed in construction of the Bridge. Discussed at length are the construction methodologies employed by the Contractor at every stage of the construction in addition to the project controls and communications. The project involved the construction of a 100m 3-span built through truss Bridge structure supported on 2 abutments and 2 pier walls to connect Kyankwanzi to Nakaseke District over River Mayanja at Kabaale crossing. Originally designed by MBW consultants, initial designs were found to be insufficient in construction detail and geo-technical data to support implementation of the structure. The Client opted to instruct the Contractor to undertake new geotechnical studies and subsequently a design review of the substructure and the superstructures. The author was involved as a site Agent and Project coordinator and over saw both the design review process and construction of the Bridge. He applied project management knowledge and skill to bring the project t to completion. The project was completed with no cost over run and minimum extension of time due to extended scope of work. This report shall expound on the project cycle, procurement method, scope of work, construction technologies, challenges faces and measures that were taken to overcome them.en_US
