    Abstract
This project report documents the detailed steps taken to implement an online payment system. Currently customers that wish to make online payments are overly restricted to use the available payment options which in most cases are unavailable and prone to rampant fraud and attacks. Merchant (owners of e-commerce websites) and customer requirements were collected using interviews. The new payment system proposes to improve the online shopping experience, by providing a secured online payment system that is easy to learn, adopt and fast to use. The suggested implementation of the project is done on a web server that is set up in the windows environment and can host ASP.NET pages. It also includes an implementation of an e-commerce website that will be used to demonstrate the advantages of the new system. The merchants and customers are then provided with a secured, easy to use, fast online payment system than can be used frequently.
