The purpose of this study was “to investigate the relationship between economic dependence, domestic violence and marital dissatisfaction”. Respondents were 200 married people: These people comprised the civil servant, self employed and peasants in Soroti District. All the hypotheses were tested using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient because it is the most appropriate for measuring the relationship between ordinal variables. The findings of the study indicated a significant relationship between economic dependence, domestic violence and marital dissatisfaction. It was recommended that government and non-governmental organizations design counselling programs to support families in preventing domestic violence. This could empower them to become economically supportive, thus reducing domestic violence and marital dissatisfaction.en_US
