This study that composed of 194 respondents from two secondary schools compared HIV/AIDS knowledge and sexual behavior between Ugandan Deaf and non-deaf youth. It also established the relationship between HIV/AIDS knowledge and sexual behavior. Results indicated that non-deaf youth had significantly more HIV/AIDS knowledge than the Deaf. Both groups had similar sexual activity and the level of HIV/AIDS knowledge did not necessarily influence sexual behavior among the youth. It was recommended that HIV/AIDS awareness programs ensure information reaches all deaf people regardless of their education background by working with deaf people’s organizations and schools. HIV prevention campaigns should be intensified among youth to increase their life skills and address their perceptions of HIV/AIDS. Research into factors that prevent youth with HIV/AIDS knowledge from engaging in safer sex practices should also be done.en_US
