dc.description.abstract | Job insecurity is one of the top concerns in the contemporary workplace, which significantly affects emotional exhaustion and employee motivation. Thus, this study set out to establish the relationship between Job insecurity, emotional exhaustion and employee motivation in health facilities. The study was undertaken at Mulago hospital, Kawala hospital, Uro care hospital, Kololo hospital and Marie Stopes hospital using a self-administered questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of 236 employees of the health facilities. The data was entered in a computer and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social scientists (SPSS). Hypotheses 1, 2 and 3 were verified using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation and the fourth hypothesis was tested using tested with model of 4 Hayes’s PROCESS macro (Version 4.1) based on certain conditions that described the data. From the study it was concluded that Job Insecurity and Emotional exhaustion are significantly related. It was also concluded that there is a relationship between Job insecurity and employee motivation, there is relationship between emotional exhaustion and employee motivation and that emotional exhaustion doesn’t not mediate the relationship between job insecurity and employee motivation among employees in the different health facilities. A number of recommendations were made after the study and these included; organizations can increase staff motivation, decrease emotional exhaustion and hence increase the feeling of employees feeling secure about their jobs by involving their employees in staff capacity building trainings and issuing written contracts to employees. | en_US |
