The Conference brought together representatives of the different political parties, members of parliament, senior members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, civil society organizations, academia, development partners and the media among others. The major objective of the conference was to provide a forum for open dialogue to a multiplicity of stakeholders to interrogate the major governance issues that arose during the course of 2006. The aim was to promote transparency, accountability, respect for the rule of law and democratic values within the structures of governance in Uganda.
