dc.description The monument is in an outline of a chicken. Within the forefront are hatched eggs symbolising the university as a place where children are hatched into a new beginning and a new generation. The monument was commissioned for the Golden jubilee in 1972 but works were completed during the platinum jubilee celebrations of 1997. en_US
