dc.description.abstract The study sought to investigate the relationship between organizational communication and staff productivity in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Kyambogo University. The study was guided by three objectives which included examining the relationship between (i) written, (ii) oral and (iii) symbolic communication and staff productivity in the said faculty. A co-relational research design guided the study using both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. A sample of 44 respondents participated in the study. Questionnaires and interview guides were used to collect quantitative and qualitative data. Pearson’s Linear Correlational Coefficient (r) was used to determine the magnitude and significance of the relationship between variables. The findings were (i) there is a positive relationship between (i) written, (ii) oral and (iii) symbolic communication and staff productivity. Conclusions were that there was a positive correlation between (i) written, (ii) oral and (iii) symbolic communication and staff productivity. Recommendations that were made included; Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences administrators and managers in Kyambogo University should use written communication in their departments to positively enhance staff productivity. There is need to apply oral communication in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Kyambogo University to positively enhance staff productivity. There is need for administrators in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Kyambogo University to use symbolic communication to positively enhance staff productivity. en_US
