dc.description.abstract This paper presents the prerequisite to producing computing graduates who have the skills required to fostering private sector competitiveness in information and communications technology development. Furthermore, the paper discusses the steps the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at Makerere University, has taken to ensure that our graduates are of high quality and have the computing skills needed by the private sector and other potential employers. Finally, the paper presents the issues that need to be addressed, so to ensure sustainable private sector competitiveness in information and communications technology development. en_US
