dc.description.abstract Recruiting of job seekers in organizations has been largely manual, involving sorting of application forms prior to short listing and subsequent interviewing. In this study, an Online Job Application Evaluation system was developed to ease and fasten the selection process that occurs within the period of time that applications are received by a recruiting organization and the time interviews are carried out. This system is appended onto a company’s website through which job seekers can apply. The user interface was designed using HTML. Java scripts are embedded within HTML to enable users access the database hence they link the interfaces to the database allowing data to be retrieved and stored. Submitted applications are stored in a MySQL database. When a vacancy expires, a script designed using java sorts the received applications based on the predefined criteria for each job, produces a shortlist and emails the successful applicants. en_US
