Abstract
Birth injury is defined by Potter (1961) as any condition that affects the foetus adversely during labour or delivery. The definition in Nelson’s Textbook of Pediatrics is quite in agreement. These birth injuries are further subdivided into those due to mechanical factors and those due to anoxia.
