dc.description.abstract | The study examined the relationship among domestic violence, self-esteem and delinquency among adolescents in Kampala. Measures of domestic violence, self-esteem and delinquency were administered on 120 adolescents of Naguru Remand Home, 11females (n=11) and 109 males (n=109). The study hypothesized that those adolescents exposed to domestic violence would report low self-esteem and report high on delinquency. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient and the Baron and Kenny four-step mediation analysis for regression. Results revealed a negative relation between domestic violence and self-esteem, a positive relation between domestic violence and delinquency, a negative relation between self-esteem and delinquency and that self-esteem plays a partial mediatory role between domestic violence and delinquency. Recommendations were made. | en_US |
