    Abstract
    Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to establish how COVID-19 escalated food insecurity in Kisoro District which in turn accelerated gender-based violence in Kisoro district. Objectives: The study was guided by the following objectives: i. To examine the ways in which COVID-19 kindled food insecurity and attendant effects on gender-relations. ii. To explore the impacts of food insecurity and gender-based violence on women and children. iii. To examine how women, children and other vulnerable categories responded to and navigated the challenges occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic particularly food insecurity and gender- relations.
