Youth unemployment is a persistent challenge in Uganda, adversely affecting economic growth and social stability. The main objective of the study was to examine the determinants of youth unemployment in Wakiso District. Specifically, the study assessed whether gender, religion, marital status, children, education, academic discipline, technical skills and source of job information determined youth unemployment in Wakiso district. The study utilized a logistic regression model to analyse survey data from Wakiso district. The empirical results indicated that gender, marital status, children, education and academic discipline significantly determined youth unemployment in Wakiso district. Although not significant, the study also found that having technical skills and using internet or social media to access job information reduced the likelihood of youth unemployment. The study disclosed some areas needing further attention by policymakers, practitioners and youth specifically in regard to youth interventions and job market information.en_US
