    Abstract
The study set out to investigate internal displacement (ID), locus of control (LOC), happiness and hope among children. A total of 240 school-going internally displaced (ID) and non-displaced (ND) children less than 18years old of either sex were enrolled into the study. A causal-comparative research design and proportionate stratified sampling were applied. Standardized scales were used in this study that is Child's Perception of Control Scale (CPCS), Children's Hope Scale (CHS) and Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS). In conclusion, there was no significant difference in either LOC or hope between ID and NO children. There was a significant difference in happiness between ID and NO children. There was no overall interactional effect between internal displacement, locus of control, happiness and hope.
