The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between resilience, self-esteem and depression among adolescents in Omuntu Wo’munda Child Development Centre Makerere Kikoni Kampala. Out of total population of 280 adolescents, a sample of 162 participants was selected using simple random sampling technique. This study adopted a purely quantitative study approach which took a cross-sectional and correlational survey design. Pearson correlation coefficient was also used to examine the relationship between the study variables. Results indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between resilience and depression among adolescents (r = -.168*, p = .0.033 <0.05). Similarly, the findings of this study also indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between resilience and self-esteem among the adolescents (r = -.237**p = .002<0.01). Also the results of the current study indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between self-esteem and depression among the adolescents (r = -.374** p = .000 <0.01). It was discovered that resilience did not mediate the relationship between self-esteem and depression among adolescents (b = -.092, t = -1.,116 p < .266). Basing on the above findings, in line with the objectives the study recommends that there is need of developing techniques by management of Omuntu Wo’munda Child Development Centre Makerere Kikoni Kampala to help adolescents to develop self-esteem and this will help them to become more resilient. Much emphasis should be put on different activities that focus on reducing adolescent’s depression to which may in turn improve their self-esteem and resilience.en_US
