Governments world-over are constantly exploring means of optimizing their energy resources. One of the key aspects in this direction is proper planning for future generations. Power transmission is a key element in the delivery of services by a Government to its subjects. Power transmission planning is a complex science that requires the optimisation of multitudes of parameters. This optimisation is often vulnerable to flaws in the absence of reliable information systems. This project realises a planning tool for the electricity transmission planning process. A system study was executed where functional and non-functional requirements were determined and a design crafted resulting in the implementation of a tool for power transmission planning.en_US
