Background Human Immune Deficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is a growing epidemic among adolescents, especially in low and middle income countries including Uganda. Adolescents are now a priority in HIV care and treatment. However adolescents’ access and utilization of HIV/AIDs services like HIV counseling and testing, Safe Male Circumcision, provision of ART, health Education and eMTCT is still low. Objective The study aimed at assessing the factors that affect utilization of HIV/AIDS services among adolescents aged 10-19 years in Kisenyi Parish, Kampala district. Methods This was a cross sectional study conducted in Kisenyi Parish, Kampala district, employing both qualitative and quantitative data collection tools. A total of 407 adolescents aged 10-19 years participated in the study. Five key informants and four FGDs were conducted. Data was entered in Epi Data and analyzed using STATA version 12, descriptive statistics were obtained, Bi variable and Multivariable analysis was done, to assess the factors that affect utilization of adolescent HIV/AIDs services. Results Majority 222/407(54.5%) of the respondents were males, most 189/407 (46.4%) of them were aged 10-14 years. The study realized that69/407 (17.0%) of the adolescents utilized at least one kind of HIV/AIDS services in the last 6 months and 39/407 (9.5%) of the adolescents had ever used a condom. Nearly half 202/407 (49.6) of the adolescents were moderately knowledgeable about HIV/AIDS prevention and risky behavior and majority 388/407 (95.3%) of adolescents exhibited stigma towards HIV/AIDs. Majority 309/407 (75.9%) of the Adolescents agreed that not having sex reduces the risk of getting HIV/AIDS. In this study high accessibility (AOR 2.20, 95% CI: 1.33-3.98) predicted utilization of adolescent HIV/AIDs services. Conclusion and recommendation The level of utilization was very low; this was attributed to the poor health seeking behavior especially among males and difficulty in accessing services. Appropriate measures need to be designed to increase on utilization of services through clearly directing adolescents to improve accessibility, reduce on stigma and changing adolescents’ health seeking behavior.en_US
