The research was carried out using descriptive research. The researcher used purposive sampling method in choosing the respondents. Questionnaires and interview methods were also used to collect data and Statistical package for social scientist (SPSS) was used to analyse the data collected and the findings were presented using frequency tables.
According to the study results, majority of the respondents were in disagreement that teaching hospitals understand all the sources of funds and this makes it hard for teaching hospitals to explore all the sources of funds. On objective two, findings as regards to challenges of different sources of funds of teaching hospitals in Uganda revealed that teaching hospitals in Uganda are facing a lot of challenges and these challenges affect the performance and objectives of teaching hospitals, majorly the teaching section of Kiruddu Referral hospital and on objective three the findings also show that most the solutions adopted by the teaching hospitals are not effective in solving the challenges of funding in teaching hospitals.
The study recommended that government should through Ministry of Education plan to include financial support to teaching hospitals in its budgeting and increase it, teaching hospitals should adopt systems and methods of budgeting and also adopt uniform format of financial reporting for all the funds they receive and use. | en_US |
